INCONEL® (nickel-chromium-iron) N06600 Plate (UNS N06600/W.Nr. 2.4816) is a material commonly used in engineering applications that demand corrosion resistance and heat resistance. This alloy possesses exceptional mechanical characteristics, presenting a commendable blend of impressive strength and easy workability
This alloy's considerable nickel content provides it with the ability to resist corrosion caused by a wide range of organic and inorganic substances. In addition, the high nickel content also provides exceptional resistance to stress-corrosion cracking induced by chloride ions, rendering this alloy almost impervious to such corrosion.
INCONEL N06600 Plate's adaptability has resulted in its utilization in numerous applications that require temperatures ranging from cryogenic conditions to temperatures exceeding 2000°F (1095°C).
This alloy is widely utilized in the chemical field due to its robustness and ability to resist corrosion. Applications include heaters, stills, bubble towers, and condensers for the processing of fatty acids. It is also used for making evaporator tubes, tube sheets, and flaking trays for producing sodium sulfide as well as for creating equipment for handling abietic acid in paper pulp manufacturing.
Due to its ability to withstand high temperatures and resist oxidation, this alloy has numerous applications in the heat treatment industry. This material is utilized in the fabrication of furnace components such as retorts, muffles, and roller hearths, as well as heat-treating baskets and trays.
INCONEL N06600 Plate is utilized in the aeronautical industry for manufacturing engine and airframe components that are required to withstand elevated temperatures. Some examples of components manufactured using INCONEL alloy 600 in the aeronautical field are exhaust liners, turbine seals, and lock wire.
